Corrosion Resistant Aluminum Sheet For Marine Environment
The marine environment, rich in chloride ions, salt spray, and wave impact, places extremely high demands on the corrosion resistance, mechanical properties, and lightweighting of marine grade metal materials. Haomei Aluminum has been deeply involved in the marine aluminum industry for 15 years, focusing on the research and development and production of corrosion resistant aluminum sheet for marine environment. Primarily using 5000 series aluminum-magnesium alloys and supplemented by 6000 series aluminum alloys, Haomei Aluminum provides reliable material solutions for global shipbuilding and marine engineering through strict quality control and comprehensive classification society certifications. Our corrosion resistant marine grade aluminum plate products have been exported to over 30 countries, with cumulative deliveries exceeding 100,000 tons.

The core competitiveness of corrosion resistant aluminum sheet for marine environment stems from the precise proportioning of alloy components and optimized processes. Different alloy series are specifically tailored to various shipbuilding and marine engineering scenarios. Specific characteristics include:
It is the flagship model of marine grade aluminum plates and the preferred material for marine engineering. With a magnesium content of 4.0%-4.9% and reinforced with manganese, it boasts a tensile strength of 310-420 MPa and an elongation of ≥12%. It exhibits industry-leading resistance to seawater corrosion and excellent low-temperature toughness (maintaining stable performance even at -60℃). The dense surface oxide film provides 80% greater resistance to chloride ion corrosion than ordinary steel. The special H116 structure ensures the plate is free from stress corrosion cracking, making it an ideal material for large ship decks, hulls, and bulkheads.
Emphasizes machinability and fatigue resistance. With a magnesium content of 3.5%-4.5%, its strength is slightly lower than the 5083 series, but its formability is superior, making it suitable for ship components subject to frequent deformation. Its lightweight advantage is significant, reducing weight by 65% compared to steel of the same thickness, effectively improving ship load-bearing capacity and fuel efficiency. It is widely used in ship superstructures, hatch covers, and side plating, and is particularly suitable for structural components of luxury yachts and cruise ships.
- 5754 H24 aluminum sheet
It is an economical and preferred model, with a magnesium content of 2.6%-3.6%. While ensuring good corrosion resistance and weldability, it achieves cost optimization, allowing it to adapt to marine environments for extended periods without additional coatings. Maintenance costs are reduced by more than 40% compared to traditional materials. It is suitable for the hulls of small yachts, fishing boats, sightseeing boats, and offshore platform ancillary structures.
It has excellent ductility, with a magnesium content of 2.2%-2.8%. It is easy to stamp and bend, and its mechanical properties are suitable for the needs of light vessels. It is mainly used for porthole frames, gangways, and deck covering support structures of fishing boats and small ferries.
- 6061 T6 aluminum sheet
It is an aluminum-magnesium-silicon alloy that can be strengthened through heat treatment. It has a tensile strength of up to 290MPa, excellent dimensional accuracy and machinability, and is specifically designed for components requiring high strength and stability, such as ship load-bearing structures, masts, and navigation equipment supports.
Haomei Aluminum's core advantages lie in quality control and authoritative certifications, providing a solid guarantee for its export business. We have established a 4 step quality control system from aluminum ingot to finished product:
- Raw Material Selection:
We use high-purity aluminum ingots with a purity of 99.7% or higher, strictly controlling the content of impurities such as iron and copper (≤0.15%) to improve corrosion resistance from the source.
- Casting Process:
We have introduced German SMS Group continuous casting and rolling equipment, which refines grain size and improves the uniformity of the internal structure of the sheet by 30%.
- Precise Heat Treatment Control:
The H116 temper strictly follows the ASTM B928 standard to ensure a balance between corrosion resistance and mechanical properties.
- Factory Inspection:
Each batch of products passes salt spray testing (≥1000 hours), tensile testing, and bending testing, and is accompanied by an EN 10204 3.2 grade material certificate.
In terms of certification, our marine aluminum plates have obtained certifications from six major classification societies: DNV, ABS, BV, LR, CCS, and RINA. They fully comply with the DNV-OS-B101:2025 marine metallic materials standard. The 5083 series has additionally passed the ASTM G66 exfoliation corrosion test, making it suitable for long-term use in tropical seas. Each batch of products comes with a corresponding classification society inspection certificate, completely eliminating certification barriers for ship inspections at global ports and helping customers smoothly expand into overseas markets.
For export needs, we offer full-process customized services, with thicknesses ranging from 2mm to 150mm, widths up to 2800mm, and lengths that can be cut to order. We also provide surface treatment options such as natural anodizing, anti-corrosion coating, and diamond embossing. We maintain a 1000-ton inventory of marine-grade aluminum plates, ensuring delivery within 7 days for regular orders and a 48-hour response time for urgent orders. Our professional team of marine materials engineers provides material selection consultation, welding process guidance and technical support. Haomei Aluminum provides efficient, durable, and environmentally friendly marinegrade corrosion resistant aluminum sheet solutions to shipbuilding companies worldwide through professional products and comprehensive services.
